Lexus has released the first tease of a new F-branded model – and it looks like the car in question is a hot version of last month’s new RC Coupe. The new RC-F will be officially revealed at the Detroit Motor Show next month, with the firm promising “performance synonymous with Lexus’s heritage of F-designated performance models”. The world's first 80mpg sports coupe
Green doesn’t have to mean dull and worthy – that Honda’s message behind its intriguing-looking Small Hybrid Sports Concept, star of its show stand and likely to enter production within the next two years. Sitting on a modified Civic platform, the European designed SHSC is powered by 1.4-litre VTEC petrol and electric engines, that will, Honda claims, return 80mpg on the urban cycle, with low emission levels of 120g/km. The teardrop-shaped two-seater also features massive low-resistance 20-inch tyres and a full-length glass roof that flows into its tail.
The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is more than a celebration of classic automotive design. It's also a great opportunity to view cutting-edge concept vehicles. This year's event saw the debut of the BMW Zagato coupe concept, and the Alfa Romeo 4C concept took home the concours' coveted “Design Award for Concept Cars & Prototypes.”
You'd never know it based on the official coverage (or lack thereof), but Aston Martin also unveiled a concept at the concours.
